Moscow City Court has left Dmitry Mikhalchenko in custody
The decision of the Basmanny Court of Moscow to extend Dmitry Mihalchenko’s arrest to September 29, 2016 has been recognized lawful. The Moscow City Court,having considered the defense’s complaint, which requested to elect a pre-trial restriction in the form of house arrest, refused to satisfy it.
It is to be recalled that the Investigative Committee is working on a criminal case under the article 200.2 of the Criminal Code, "Smuggling of alcohol by an organized group" initiated on the fact of illegal movement of a large consignment of alcohol across the border and non-payment of mandatory customs fees. On March 29, 2016, consecutively Mihalchenko, his Deputy Boris Korevsky and two prominent businessmen in the field of logistics, Anatoly Kindzersky and Ilya Pichko (they at least since 2014 have been working closely, knew each other through the international holding AKFA and major economic operator "Kontreyl Logistic Severo-Zapad"), were detained.
According to the investigators, the alcohol from abroad was imported in the interests of Mihalchenko’s restaurant group. It is believed that the contractor is the major economic operator "Kontreyl Logistic Severo-Zapad".
As it has been revealed to "Fontanka", Anatoly Kindzersky made a deal with the investigation, which involves the confession and testimony on the partners.
Ilya Pichko, on June 14, 2016, was released from custody on bail of 10 million rubles, which also involves cooperation with the investigation.
The Greek Areopagus upheld the decision of the court in Thessaloniki to extradite Russian Alexander Vinnik, who is considered the owner of the BTC-e crypto-exchange. RBC magazine found other of its possible beneficiaries and found out what Vinnik was doing.
