Head of Bryansk Interior Ministry and three subordinates charged in "cigarette" case
Police officers are considered involved in the disappearance of material evidence for 4 million rubles ($61.3 thousand).
Bryansk Head of the local Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Colonel Igor Sudarev, and three more police officers - two employees of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption, and the former Head of this department, Colonel Oleg Stolpnik, were charged with abuse of office.
The press service of the regional prosecutor's office explained that the investigation considers the law enforcement officers to be involved in the disappearance of tobacco products, which were kept in the department as evidence. In particular, unmarked cigarettes with a total value of over 4 million rubles ($61.3 thousand) have disappeared.
The investigation established that the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Bryansk region had made an illegal decision to return material evidence to the persons named in the investigation. The investigation of the criminal case continues under the supervision of the regional prosecutor's office.
Presumably, it concerns the US response to Ukraine’s help in the investigation against Joseph Biden, Trump’s main rival in the 2020 presidential election, who allegedly was in collusion with Kiev during the previous campaign.
