Perpetrator of illegal seizures Georgy Pirumov came off turning in all gang participants
Accomplice in a raider seizure of a building on the Gogol Boulevard can be out on parole.
The Koptevsky Court of Moscow sentenced a businessman Georgy Pirumov to 1 year and 8 months in a penal colony. He was found guilty of Attempted large-scale Swindling - of complicity in an attempt to illegal seizure of a building on the Gogol Boulevard in Moscow (Article 30 and part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code). The 44-year-old businessman’s sentence was so lenient because he gave detailed testimony against the other participants of the fraud, admitted his guilt and remorsed. Given that Pirumov agreed to a plea bargain, the prosecutors asked for the swindler a sentence of 1 year, 10 months prison, the affected party - the company Ekvismana Holding Ltd - also requested the minimum term of imprisonment. As a result, the Judge Kirill Marinenko found it possible to sentence Georgy Pirumov to even shorter period - 1 year, 8 months prison.
As the CrimeRussia previously reported, Georgy Pirumov’s case was separated from the case of the illegal seizure attempt of the old mansion on the Gogol Boulevard in Moscow. According to the investigators, the very scam was attempted by the businessmen Mikhail Chernov and Mikhail Balakirev, who got a seven-year prison terms in September of 2013. The ex-chairman of the Moscow Arbitration Court Irina Baranova provided assistance to them, according to the investigators: for a bribe of more than € 100 thousand, she made her subordinate judge to deliver a judgment in favor of Chernov and Balakirev. The judge Baranova, after that, flew to the United States. Only in 2016, in respect of her a criminal case was initiated. Despite the prosecution of the scam participants, their attempts to gain control over the mansion on the Gogol Boulevard continued. The new defendants in the investigation are a lawyer, a self-proclaimed commander of the DPR Air Intelligence Army Dmitry Lysakovsky and a lawyer from Nizhny Novgorod Eugene Ryzhov (on the wanted list). Also, another DPR representative Petr Chikhun and Georgy Pirumov were taken into custody. The latter, by the way, shortly before it, was released from a prison where he was serving a sentence for an attempted contract killing of his business partner. Pirumov placed his firm Delimar Corporation Ltd in service of his accomplices for closing the transaction on the mansion.
First, Georgy Pirumov denied his guilt, but then started cooperating with the investigation, providing details on the schemes of fraud and its participants.
Note that earlier Pirumov was repeatedly convicted. He was twice tried under the RSFSR Criminal Code for fraud and forgery. Also Pirumov, who in 2011 was a top manager of the JSC Russky dom nedvizhimosti (Russian House of Real Estate Property), was sentenced for plotting the assassination of his business partner, to whom he owed $ 5.5 million. The crime was prevented, so the businessman got off easy. He was sentenced to 5.5 years but this sentence he also did not serve full time, was freed on parole.
By the way, within the last case, Georgy Pirumov may again be on parole, as he has already served in the predetention facility for nearly 12 of the 20 months.
The CEO of the law firm TM Defence Yana Brutman, representing the interests of the aggrieved party - the company Ekvismana Holding Ltd - in court, told Kommersant that thanks to Pirumov’s testimony new arrests may follow. Brutman noted that this entails, in particular, corrupt ties of the fugitive lawyer Ryzhov with the law enforcement authorities in Nizhny Novgorod. Note that in Nizhny Novgorod, Ryzhov is being checked for involvement in a series of illegal seizures.
