Igor Osintsev's organized criminal grouping, which had been operating at the territory of Trans-Baikal region in the 1990s and 2000s, was the largest in the region.
More than 10 people were arrested for murder. About 10 more are serving jail terms, including Osintsev himself. According to investigators, current evidence shows gang involvement in several contract killings, but there might turn out to have been dozens. In April of 2012 the only gang member who was not in jail, was detained in Moscow - Igor Melnichuk, nicknamed "Krasnuy" (Red) who had been wanted for 5 years. In May of 2013 Yuri Shkretov, Deputy of Legislative Assembly of Trans-Baikal region, was arrested on charges of involvement in Osintsev gang murders.
