Igor Sahuta was born in Dalnegorsk. He graduated from the Technical and Vocantional School №25, becoming vehicle and imported equipment mechanic. In 2001, he became an entrepreneur. Later, he entered the Far Eastern Federal University, Management - strategic management of the enterprise faculty. Later, he headed a freight company.
In 2012, Sahuta became a member of the City Council, being a member of Spravedlivaya Rossiya (A Just Russia) political party. A year later, he was elected the Head of Dalnegorsk city.
According to some reports, while a Mayor he made multi-million contracts with his company Avtobaza 7. The company was officially registered on his civil wife Anna Shekera.
In December 2016, he was arrested on charges of abuse of office. He is suspected of fraud in the emergency-state housing resettlement program. The damage done to the budget was estimated at 22 million rubles.
According to investigators, in the end of 2015 the official organized e-auctions on purchase of apartments for resettlement of citizens from dilapidated housing, inflating the price. 17 orders on purchase of 34 apartments were issued. As a result, the amount of the damage done to the Fund of reforming housing and communal services, as well as to the Primorsky Region and Dalnegorsk city budget was estimated at 22 million rubles. Thus, extra charge for an apartment was about 1.5 million rubles.
