Two members of the gang agreed to cooperate with the investigation and are already serving their terms.

In Irkutsk, members of a criminal gang that extorted money from local drug traffickers will be brought to trial. The defendants claim that they acted out of good intentions - they allegedly wanted to clear the city of drugs like this, but the investigation proved the opposite.

“The arguments about the fight against drug trafficking have been completely refuted by the materials of the criminal case. During the preliminary investigation, it was established that the leader of the gang attacked citizens to extort money from them on a large and very large scale with the use of violence and firearms," the press service of the regional Investigative Committee reported.

The members of the organized criminal group believed that since they were attacking drug dealers, no one would write a statement to the police. It has been established that gangsters demanded that dealers to pay a tribute of 50 thousand rubles per month to them. Those who tried to resist were tortured: they were taken outside the town and beaten.

During the searches, law enforcement officers seized an arsenal of weapons and ammunition, as well as a car park: Infinity FC 37, Toyota Land Cruiser 150, Mercedes Benz C 500, BMW 745 I, Toyota Camry, Toyota Alteza, Mazda 6 and other cars.

The police detained several members of the gang two years ago. Then, the investigation was initiated. Two gangsters made a deal with the investigation and are already serving their sentences, the other is being introduced to the case, other six have been put on the federal wanted list.
