Victims in Tsapok’s case refused $6 million in damages
The money will remain on the account of the criminal's civil wife.
The Krasnodar Regional Court dismissed $ 6 million damage claims of the victims in the case of Tsapok’s gang. The compensation was supposed to be withdrawn from the amount stored on the account of the OCG leader’s civil wife Anzhela-Maria. The decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar remains in force, Interfax reports.
In September 2018, at the request of the bailiffs, the first instance court discontinued the proceedings for the recovery of money from Anzhela-Maria Tsapok’s account arrested in 2010. Earlier, Tsapok voluntarily paid about 31 million rubles ($ 460,000) to the victims. Prior to that, about 119 million rubles ($ 1,765 million) were collected from Tsapok’s mother.
Sergey Tsapok and his organized criminal group terrorized the village of Kushchevskaya from 1998 to 2010. They are responsible for murders, raiding and other less serious crimes. The gang leader died in 2014 in a pre-trial detention center.
