They steal vehicles and rob stores: gang of teenagers terrorize citizens of Moscow region

The victims threaten to create self-defence groups in case police do not manage to cope with the juvenile offenders.

Citizens of a few settlements in the Moscow region have stated they are ready to create self-defence groups in case police do not release them from a gang of teenagers-hijackers, reports REN TV. According to the TV channel, the juvenile offenders have stolen dozens of bikes, mopeds and cars, as well as robbed a store.

The victims say there are 4 teenagers aged between 16 and 18 in the gang. The young med stole mopeds and sold them for parts. The victims believe they had read the work-book for starting engines on the web.

Besides that, the teenagers are reported to have stolen a car from a local female and got in a road accident in it. Both the hijackers and a random road tripper got injuries. Later, the car was found burnt in the woods near a house of one of the suspects.

Besides that, the gang is suspected of robbery of a supermarket. The damage from the robbery is estimated at 100 thousand rubles ($1.5 thousand). CCTV showed people looking like the hijackers. The robbers are reported to have been identified, however the items that had been stolen from the store have not been found.

One of the alleged members of the gang lives with his father in the territory of gardeners’ partnership. The victims state the man actively helped his son in the crimes. Besides that, one of the female locals reported that those who complain about the actions of the gang’s members get their windows and fence doors broken, and their lands covered with excrements. According to some reports, one of the victims was stoned. 

The media office of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Moscow region stated that 2 underaged members of the gang had previously been detained, however released on bail. The TV channel notes that the police did not recognized some of the owners of the cars that had been stolen as victims.
