Stealing gold for 10 million rubles ethnic gang detained
The investigation revealed the involvement of the criminal gang in a series of burglaries and carjacking.
The police of the Moscow region together with colleagues from the capital detained an ethnic criminal group (OCG), engaged in theft and robbery, said the official website of the Interior Ministry.
The gang was caught after application of a Lyubertsy's resident of the carjacking. According to the victim, the car was stolen by unknown when he came to inspect the flat tire. In the car there were several gold items worth about 10 million rubles.
Soon, the police detained the gang members - four Moscow residents aged 25 to 29 years old. Three of the four detainees had previous convictions.
During the search, it was found objects, confirming their illegal activities: 4 pistols with 18 cartridges, shooting stick with 3 bullets, handcuffs, a knife, 20 mobile phones with SIM cards, sets of keys and master keys, 7 mortise and padlocks, 22 larvae of castles, binoculars, searcher, jewelry, money, six watches , two laptops, 5 tablet PCs and gloves. All found evidence are sent to a lab for the examination.
The investigation has also established the involvement of the organized crime group in the carjacking in the Odintsovo district, as well as to a series of burglaries. According to investigators, the gang has caused damage amounting to more than 12 million rubles.
With respect to detainees the criminal case was opened under Art. 158 (Theft) and Art. 161 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code. The suspects face up to 12 years in prison. Currently all of the gang members were taken into custody.
Ismail Efendiev is suspected of exceeding authority in connection with the investigation of cases of detained earlier former First Deputy Prime Minister Ramazan Aliyev and nephew of the former head of Dagestan Askhabali Abdulatipov. Searches are being conducted at Efendiev's office and house.
The disappearance of an elderly Muscovite, who owns three rooms on Ostozhenka Street, and her disabled son, worried the neighbors, but the police refused to initiate criminal proceedings on their application. Housing in the elite area of the capital in the meantime was re-registered to a resident of St. Petersburg, who introduced herself as their relative.
