Son of former prosecutor of Azov convicted of extortion as member of athletes gang
A businessman, from whom the defendant demanded $ 5,000, turned to the police.
Azov’s court sentenced Sergey Bokov, the son of a former Azov interdistrict prosecutor, to 2.5 years in a penal colony. The defendant positioned himself as a kingpin and, together with accomplices-athletes, extorted money from local entrepreneurs for patronage, 161.ru reports.
Bokov was detained at the end of August 2018, after a report from an entrepreneur, from whom the gang demanded 300,000 rubles ($ 5,000). Bokov offered the businessmen to help avoid prosecutorial checks, referring to connections in the security bodies. There are 10 people in the gang.
The defendant’s father, Mikhail Bokov, was dismissed from the Prosecutor's Office in 2009.
Former Head of the Losino-Petrovsky district of the Moscow region, Oleg Fetyukov, did not enjoy his power in the local administration for a long time. Just a year after his appointment, the long-term deputy of Andrey Vikharev voluntarily resigned. The courageous step did not save Fetyukov from arrest. Immediately after this, a number of media outlets stated that Fetyukov was “set up”– the charges seem too small to his defenders. The enemies attributed to Fetyukov did not achieve too much either. So whom does the ex-head of Losino-Petrovsky “replace” under investigation and how long will the investigators be content with the replacement?
