Siloviki came with searches to Novosibirsk’s Mayor in case of Mikhail Abyzov
The investigative activities are being carried out at the City Hall’s Capital Construction Department.
Police came with searches to the Capital Construction Department of the Novosibirsk City Hall, reports Znak.com with reference to the city administration. Investigative activities are held within the investigation of the criminal case against employees of Sibeko JSC, which are involved in the case of ex-minister of the Open Government, Mikhail Abyzov, who is accused of embezzling 4 billion rubles.
“The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Novosibirsk Region is carrying out investigative activities at the Capital Construction Department within the investigation of a criminal case against employees of Sibeko JSC,” said press secretary of the Novosibirsk administration Tatyana Klyukina. Police refused to comment on the incident.
Mikhail Abyzov was detained by FSB officers on March 26. On March 27, the Basmanny Court arrested him until May 25. The ex-Minister and other persons involved in the criminal case were charged with fraud (Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and the organization of the criminal community (Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The investigation believes that Abyzov and his accomplices stole 4 billion rubles from Siberian Energy Company OJSC and Regional Electric Network OJSC. The defendants in the case do not admit their guilt.
