Senator from Karachay-Cherkessia Rauf Arashukov suspected of murder and participation in the criminal community was accused more than ten years ago in Rostov-on-Don, Nezygar Telegram-channel reports.

In 2007, the then 21-year-old deputy of the Stavropol State Duma had a conflict with the son of the deputy head of the FSB for the Rostov region. Allegedly Arashukov insulted his girlfriend, and when a young man stood up for her, the guards of the future Senator beat him.

A few hours later, they were detained with the assistance of the local SOBR and taken to the SIZO. According to Nezygar, Arashukov paid a lot for his release.

Recall, Rauf Arashukov and his father Raul were detained on January 30 on charges of some grave crimes. The former Senator is charged under the articles Participation in a criminal community, Pressure on a witness and Murder.

In Soviet times, Raul Arashukov was twice convicted for economic crimes. Now he is suspected of involvement in the theft of natural gas from Gazprom worth 30 billion rubles. Both suspects are in custody.
