Rostov gang of armed extortionists detained
Four men beat and robbed an entrepreneur from Novoshakhtinsk.
Employees of the FSB, Rosgvardiya and the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a joint operation in the regions of Rostov and Moscow to detain four people suspected of assault on a businessman of Novoshakhtinsk. The attackers forced the businessman to pay them but he refused, after which they beat him and stole his jewelry and money, stated Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs speaker, Irina Volk.
Investigators opened a criminal case. Searches turned up three traumatic pistols and hunting carbines that could have been used during the assault; they were seized. The court placed all four detainees in custody.
