Petition in defense of potential customer of Orekhovskaya OCG murderers collects 50k+ signatures
The killers testified against Odintsovo businessman Sergey Vyalkov 20 years after the crime.
The petition, published on change.org in defense of Sergey Vyalkov, an entrepreneur from Odintsovo, whom the killers from the Orekhovskaya organized crime group called the customer for the murder of policeman Nikolay Petrov, collected more than 50,000 signatures. The Moscow region entrepreneur was arrested after the testimony of a third gang member 20 years after the crime.
Vyalkov was detained by FSB officers in January 2018 after returning from vacation. First, the entrepreneur was called the customer of the murder by sentenced to life terms the leader of the Orekhovskaya OCG Sergei Butorin and the killer of the gang Alexander Vasilchenko. Shortly before the arrest of Vyalkov, another killer of the Orekhovskaya organized criminal group Marat Polyansky, who faces prolongation of his sentence from 22 years to life imprisonment, testified against him.
Vyalkov, Petrov, and Butorin together served as conscripts, and then as ensigns of the construction troops, says Lenta. In the 80s, their paths diverged: Butorin went into crime, Vyalkov into business, and Petrov into police. On December 3, 1998, Petrov, who had become by then the deputy head of the Organized Crime Division for the Central Administrative District of Moscow, was bombarded from a car by Polyansky and Vasilchenko. The policeman survived, a criminal case was opened, but the killers brought Vyalkov's name only in 2017, having served many years in prison.
By approving the pension reform, Russian lawmakers have admitted the frailty of life. For instance, 62-year-old Viktor Ozerov, Senator from the Khabarovsk Krai, has suddenly got tired and decided to retire. ‘Authoritative’ businessman Aleksander Shishkin is eager to succeed him. A former Senator and member of the Committee for Defense and Security, Shishkin is concerned about his personal safety and immunity.
