Moscow: FSB supported by National Guard holds mass detentions of siloviki and insurance agents
About 40 people have been taken for interrogation.
In Moscow, FSB officers supported by National Guard officers have detained about 40 people, former and current traffic police officers, prosecutors, and insurance company agents. This is reported by Mash via Telegram.
It is specified that searches and detentions were conducted on the night of April 29, mainly in the South Administrative District. It is known that all members of the alleged OCC are suspected of frauds with third party liability insurance and comprehensive insurance.
According to the investigation, a criminal group was organized, which registered fake insurance policies. The OCC members included police officers and prosecutors from different districts of Moscow, many have already resigned. The FSB cultivated the fraudsters for two years.
It is noted that because of the special procedural status of prosecutors, they have not been detained and interrogated yet.
Special forces units were also involved in the detentions, since FSB operatives feared that the former employees of law enforcement agencies could have kept unrecorded weapons and could resist, the channel notes.
The MIA Main Directorate in Moscow responded promptly to the message in social networks, stating that “there are no prosecutors and police officers among the detained."
