Machine guns, rifles, grenades and mines: wide range of weaponry seized from Tver organized crime group
Tver police located two illegal workshops for the manufacture of weapons belonging to bandits.
The Federal Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs located two illegal workshops for the manufacture and modernization of weapons that belonged to a local organized crime group, reported the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The searches revealed two machine guns, ten rifles and carbines, four submachine guns, 12 pistols and revolvers, and 23 artillery shells and mines. In addition, the gangsters had 19 fragmentation hand grenades, shells, over 1.7 thousand different rounds of ammunition and more than two dozen cold steel weapons.
The operatives seized the main parts and components, as well as marijuana found during the searches.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted under Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (arms trafficking).
