Leader of transnational gang combat wing detained in Bishkek
Max is most cruel of the gang members.
Member of the transnational group of 39-year-old Murat Niyazov, aka Max, is detained in Bishkek. The employees of the Kyrgyz Organized Crime Control Bureau participated in the detention with the support of the SOBR fighters.
Law enforcers call Max the leader of the gang’s combat wing. Max is most cruel of the gang members.
Interpol wanted Max since 2015. The detainee was convicted in absentia in Kazakhstan under articles 194, 367, 262 of the Criminal Code (Extortion, Creation of an Organized Criminal Group). The court sentenced him to 12 years in prison.
Now one of the leaders is placed in an isolation ward. Law enforcement officers of Kazakhstan have already been informed about the detention of their citizen.
Sweeping purge of Novosibirsk governmental structures – clampdown on corruption ties between local elite clans and their ‘patrons’ in law enforcement agencies?
Two governmental structures – judicial and watchdog agencies – have been ‘decapitated’ in the Novosibirsk region. The sweeping purge of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office was not as severe as the media had reported – but the key figures have already been removed from office. In fact, the large-scale unscheduled inspection carried out by a commission dispatched by the Prosecutor General’s Office has just begun. Who else is going to resign ‘voluntarily’? Who has initiated the sweeping purge of the watchdog authority? And what high-profile corruption cases are forthcoming?
