Today the Lefortovo Court of Moscow will hold preliminary hearings of the case of former ex-prime minister of Dagestan Abdusamad Gamidov, as well as his deputy, ex-Minister of Economy of the Republic Rayudin Yusufov, who are accused of embezzling budget funds.

The defense of the former Prime Minister of Dagestan, Abdusamad Hamidov, as well as his deputy, the former Minister of Economy of the republic, Rayudin Yusufov, who are accused of embezzling budget funds, is convinced that high-ranking officials acted within their powers and following republican law. According to lawyer Eduard Isetsky, former Head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov can prove it. The defense insists on summoning him to court as a witness, Kommersant writes.

“If the court studies these materials, then Hamidov and Yusufov should be released, all charges from them have to be removed,” said Isetsky.

“The version of the investigation, according to which my client assigned the funds allocated for the construction of an insulator, is inconsistent, because the object is built, and now it is owned by the state. Therefore, the position of the prosecution is absurd, ” said Yusufov’s lawyer Dagir Khasavov.
