Karandashi gang members condemned for robbery in suburbs
Eleven defendants got terms from three to 17 years in prison.
The Moscow Regional Court sentenced 11 members of the Karandashi gang; they were found guilty of robberies in the Serpukhov district of the Moscow region. Armed gangsters robbed apartments and cottages of entrepreneurs, RBC writes. Two convicts were released in the courtroom.
The court recognized Igor Kalinin, Alexander Zherelin and Sergey Lukin as the leading activists of the gang; they were accused of robbery, banditry, illegal possession of weapons and theft of documents. The Moscow Regional Court sentenced Kalinin and Zherelin to 15 years in a strict regime colony, and Lukin got 17 years.
Another eight gangsters received sentences ranging from three to five years. One was released under an amnesty; the other served a penalty in the SIZO.
