Investigators’ spookies: lawyer calles accusations against Shakro Molodoy unfounded
Zakhar Kalashov’s defense denies kingpin’s relationship with the criminal world.
The lawyer of the kingpin Zakhar Kalashov, known by the nickname Shakro Molodoy, suddenly claimed that his client has no relations with the underworld. He said this today in the courtroom of the Tverskoy Court, where the Shakro’s arrest extension was on the agenda.
"I believe that Zakhar Kalashov is nudis verbis charged with committing a crime. How can he be identified with the underworld, OCG and consigned him to the highest criminal hierarchy? These are investigation’s horror stories,"- AGN Moskva quoted the lawyer Tengiz Papaskua.
Recall that Shakro Molodoy was arrested on the case of extortion 8 million rubles, which was initiated after a shootout in the Elements restaurant on Rochdelskaya Street in Moscow in December 2015. According to investigators, Kalashov’s people demanded money from the owner of the restaurant Joanne Kim, which she owed to the designer Fatima Misikova. Kim brought the former KGB officer Eduard Budantsev on her side. Between people of Shakro Molodoy and Budantsev the conflict with the shootout began, it resulted in two deaths.
In addition, within the framework of the criminal case ICR senior officials Denis Nikandrov, Mikhail Maksimenko and Alexander Lamonov were detained. They were charged with bribe-taking on an especially large scale. Investigators believe that they received 1 million dollars from intermediaries of the kingpin. For a bribe the officers had to reclassify charges on a softer article for Kalashov’s improvised Andrey Kochuykov (the Italian), detained after a shootout on Rochdelskaya. The Italian is accused of hooliganism and participation in a criminal association.
On September 21, kingpin Vladimir Vagin, aka Vagon, hanged himself. Two years earlier another thief in law Max Pioner also committed suicide. Vagon's lawyer does not believe in the version of suicide and intends to apply for a forensic medical examination.
