Head of “E” Center for Karachaevo-Cherkessia and ICR investigator taken into custody in case of Arashukovs
Earlier, the ICR’s major general was sent under custody.
Moscow’s Basmanny Court took the head of the MIA’s Center for Countering Extremism for Karachaevo-Cherkessia, Timur Betuganov, and the republican ICR’s investigator for particularly important cases, Andrey Filippov, into custody until June 23 in the case of suspended Senator Rauf Arashukov and his father Raul, the court’s press service reports. Together with them, Major General Kazbek Bulatov, who served as deputy head of the ICR’s Directorate in the republic, was also sent under custody for the same period.
According to the investigators, the arrested persons were in friendly relations with the Arashukovs and ignored the facts of natural gas swindling worth 31 billion rubles ($ 486 million). The court hearings were held behind closed doors.
