Head of ‘black estate agents’ burying people alive hangs himself
He was facing life in prison.
Roman Shugaibov, a head of ‘black estate agents’ in the city of Tver, has committed suicide in the remand prison. According to preliminary data, the incident took place on November 5.
The dead body of the gang’s head who was responsible for at least 9 murders was found in the remand prison’s cell. The check is being carried out, the media office of the Chief Directorate of the Investigative Committee reported.
As CrimeRussia had earlier reported, the defendants in the case are 16 persons - 8 male and 8 female. The gang was founded in 2013. During this period, the criminals have managed to obtain ownership of 5 apartments in Moscow worth of 28 million rubles ($423.6 thousand).
The criminal group’s members brutally murdered their victims. Shugaibov took part in the acts of atrocity - some of the victims were drowned to death, others were buried alive with disguising burial sites as officially created graves. The Investigative Committee believes the total of 9 persons were killed.
The criminal case has been opened under item 1 of article 210 (building a criminal organization), item 2 of article 105 (murder), and item 4 of article 159 (large scale fraud) of the Criminal Code of Russia.
