Former partner of Gazprom arrested in Vienna under USA request
One of the most solvent entrepreneurs of Ukraine Dmitry Firtash appeared under guards again. Now, he may face an extradition.
The supreme land tribunal of Vienna passed the decision on arrest of entrepreneur Dmitry Firtash, which is the former partner of Gazprom in the Swiss trader of Rosukrenergo. The decision was made in connection with a request of U.S. authorities for an extradition of the entrepreneur.
As Reuters reports, there is no question of guilt of the entrepreneur yet - court in other country will solve it if the decision on an extradition will be confirmed by the federal Minister of Justice of Vienna. Dmitry Firtash already told media that he intends to challenge the judgment.
As the CrimeRussia’s wrote, Ukrainian entrepreneur Dmitry Firtash controlling Russian gas supplies to Ukraine in 2005-2011 was detained in Austria on March 12, 2014 at the request of FBI. He was suspected of participation in creation of organized criminal group when he worked on the investment project in India in 2006.
Denis Pak, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, has been awarded the Order For Merit to the Fatherland of II degree, while Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engines Institute Director General Sergei Gaisin got the Order of Alexander Nevsky for “a significant contribution to the implementation of the Unified Modular Platform project.”
