Federation Council deprives Arashukov of senator’s status
It was caused by the fact that Arashukov had failed to submit the declaration of income.
The Federation Council has deprived Rauf Arashukov - who is in a remand prison Lefortovo now - of the senator’s status. It was caused by the fact that Arashukov had failed to submit the 2018 declaration of income before April 1, reports RIA Novosti.
The Federation Council’s committee for monitoring the income of senators had earlier recommended the chamber to consider deprivation Arashukov of his mandate. He was reported to have sent his declaration of income on April 15. With that, he did not provide the data on his wife and underaged children’s income.
The Federation Council believes Arashukov had had all possibilities to provide the documents on time. With that, vice-speaker of the high chamber and head of the profile committee Yury Vorobiev noted that no one else had any issues with providing the documents on 2018 income on time.
The CrimeRussia had reported that in late January, Arashukov was detained and arrested for especially serious crimes.
Russia’s deposit insurance agency asked the court to involve an offshore company Clement Glory in a case against a fugitive banker and an ex-owner of Vneshprombank Georgy Bedzhamov. Clement Glory turned out to hold Bedzhamov’s real estate in Great Britain in pawn, reports RBC.
