Exclusive MAUSER was confiscated from wing of gunsmiths
The rare gun MAUSER, priced at 2.5 million rubles and incrusted with precious metals, fell into the hands of the security forces when members of the wing was seeking to sell it.
The rare gun was seized from the gang in North Ossetia. The fact that certain people needed to pass out such a rare weapon was emerged to criminal investigation officers of the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs and representatives of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) in the course of fieldwork. It was received that a stable criminal wing, which is engaged in the illegal sale of weapons, operates in North Ossetia.
As part of operative actions the law enforcement officers purchased a homemade pistol with ammunition worth 70 000 rubles from one of the member of organized crime group. A few days later arms dealer have got in touch with the law enforcement officers, offering to buy rare weapon – a pistol MAUSER incrusted with precious metals and estimated at 2.5 million rubles. According to sellers, there are only three copies of such gun.
Members of organized crime group were detained when passing out guns. It emerged that the gun is actually encrusted with precious metals, including gold. The weapon is applicable for shooting. The proper value of the rarity and its origin is being deduced.
Into the activities of gun distributors the criminal proceeding is undertaken and currently investigated under part 2 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal Acquisition, Transfer, Sale, Storage, Transportation, or Bearing of Firearms, Its Basic Parts, Ammunition, Explosives, and Explosive Devices, committed by a group of persons by previous concert). They would face imprisonment up to 6 years.

On September 21, kingpin Vladimir Vagin, aka Vagon, hanged himself. Two years earlier another thief in law Max Pioner also committed suicide. Vagon's lawyer does not believe in the version of suicide and intends to apply for a forensic medical examination.
