A few days later arms dealer have got in touch with the law enforcement officers, offering to buy rare weapon – a pistol MAUSER incrusted with precious metals and estimated at 2.5 million rubles. According to sellers, there are only three copies of such gun.
Members of organized crime group were detained when passing out guns. It emerged that the gun is actually encrusted with precious metals, including gold. The weapon is applicable for shooting. The proper value of the rarity and its origin is being deduced.
Into the activities of gun distributors the criminal proceeding is undertaken and currently investigated under part 2 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal Acquisition, Transfer, Sale, Storage, Transportation, or Bearing of Firearms, Its Basic Parts, Ammunition, Explosives, and Explosive Devices, committed by a group of persons by previous concert). They would face imprisonment up to 6 years.
