Ex-manager of Summa Group accused of attempted murder
The president of Ziyavudin Magomedov's fight club is internationally wanted.
The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow arrested in absentia the former director for support of the Summa group and the president of the Eagles MMA fight club Denis Klopnev, who was accused by the investigation of organizing the attempted murder of sambo fighter Shamil Kuramagomedov (Art. 30 of the Russian Criminal Code). Earlier, Klopnev was put on the international wanted list. Interfax reports about it.
According to the investigation, in June 2017, after Kuramagomedov refused to participate in the seizure of the port in Makhachkala, seven fighters of the Eagles MMA club belonging to the owner of the Summa group Ziyavudin Magomedov attacked the athlete. The murder of Kuramagomedov was allegedly prevented by passers-by.
As established by the news agency, Klopnev chairs the board of the Sports Federation of the Moscow Region Universal Fight, manages the OOO Academy of Mixed Martial Arts and co-owns OOO FAIT NAITS.
According to the lawyer of the wanted, Klopnev has no relation to Eagles MMA, does not admit guilt, does not know the victim. In addition to Klopnev, the court arrested three alleged accomplices in absentia, they were also put on the international wanted list. Five persons involved in the case were sent to jail.
