Ex-head of Volgograd police tells how General Muzraev participated in gatherings
REN TV quotes the former Head of the State Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Volgograd region, Mikhail Tsukruk.
Recently, law enforcement officers detained the ex-head of the Volgograd ICR, Mikhail Muzraev. Lieutenant-General is suspected of involvement in the assassination attempt on the Head of the region, Andrey Bocharov in 2016. As stated by official representative of the ICR Svetlana Petrenko, the possible involvement of Muzraev in other crimes is being checked.
According to the ex-chief of the State Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Volgograd region (2006–08) Mikhail Tsukruk, Muzraev is guilty of different crimes. According to the police Major-General, who was interviewed by REN TV, the former high-ranking investigator not only framed up cases against security officials who prevented the maintenance and development of his corruption schemes, but also covered his employees who used harsh interrogation methods, as a result of which the key witness in the case of Tsukruk died – it was the Head of the traffic police in the Volgograd region, Florid Salimyanov. All that happened within several years and Muzraev enjoyed the support of criminal authorities.
“During the events, subordinates reported to me about close contacts of Muzraev with mobs. My scouts received information about the preparation of a criminal gathering against Mayor Ischenko. Muzraev was among the participants. At this meeting, the question of the Mayor's resignation was at stake. He interfered with them," said Tsukruk.
Lieutenant-General of Justice Mikhail Muzraev headed the Investigation Committee of the Volgograd region from 2011 to December 2018.
Together with Muzraev, businessman Vladimir Zubkov was detained (in certain circles he is known as Zubok). Both were transferred to Moscow. Lieutenant-General Muzraev and the businessman are accused under part 2 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Terrorist Act committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy). They were detained within the case over arson of the house of Volgograd region Governor Andrey Bocharov in 2016.
