Ex-head of banking department of ‘K’ directorate of FSB to be checked for ties to Jako’s killers gang
Eyewitnesses report that Dmitry Frolov accused of swindling and taking bribes was likely to communicate with Aslan Gagiev in 2004-2005.
Ex-head of the 2nd department of the ‘K’ directorate of the Economic Security Service of the Federal Security Service Dmitry Frolov is going to be checked in a case against a gang of Aslan Gagiev (aka Jako) that is responsible for at least 60 murders, reports Rosbalt with reference to sources within law enforcement. Eyewitnesses report that Dmitry Frolov was likely to communicate with members of the organized criminal group.
According to sources of Rosbalt, a law enforcer from North Ossetia testified against Frolov. He told that in 2004, two offroadsters Toyota Land Cruiser with Gagiev’s people arrived at the Republic. One of the vehicles was equipped with a rotating warning light. The eyewitness believes that Frolov was inside one of the cars. He accompanied the members of the gang. Another eyewitness told about the meeting of Frolov and Gagiev that had allegedly taken place in 2005. The agency’s source links the events with the ‘war’ for flows related to money laundering that took place between various shadowy groups.
Gagiev’s fighters eliminated two major shadowy financiers. In October, 2005, the gangsters shot two offroadsters with drivers, a shadowy banker Aleksander Slesarev (who controlled Credittrust and Sodbusinessbank), his spouse, 15-year-old daughter and a nun inside. They were on their way to the Mary Magdalene convent. Slesarev’s family and the nun were killed, the drivers got injuries.
In December, 2005, Jako’s gunmen abducted a chairman of board of Kutuzovsky bank Oleg Novoselsky in Moscow. He was taken to Gagiev, and killed subsequently. His dead body was put in a barrel, poured with cement and threw in the Moscow Canal.
Investigators do not know for sure whether Frolov communicated with Gagiev, however he is to be interrogated due to the gang’s case.
The head of the 2nd department of the ‘K’ directorate of the Federal Security Service Kirill Cherkalin and his predecessor Dmitry Frolov were detained in spring, 2019. 12 billion rubles ($188 million) in cash and values were found during the searches. The investigation theory is that in 2011, Frolov and Cherkalin made - at threat of criminal prosecution - a head of a construction company Sergey Glyadelkin and give them a share at OOO Yurpromkonsalting worth of at least 490 million rubles ($7.7 million).
