The former official is being accused of theft of 4 billion rubles ($61.7 million).

Narcotic substance has been found in an apartment of a former Minister of the RF Open government Minister Abyzov arrested for creation of an organized criminal community, reports Moskva news agency from the courtroom of Moscow’s Basmanny court.

The court is considering Abyzov’s extension of detention.

“Narcotic substance has been found in an apartment owned by Abyzov. The audit report has been received,” investigator Sergey Stepanov said.

Separate criminal case into drug detection has been initiated.

Besides that, the investigator noted that during his detention in a remand prison, Mikhail Abyzov transferred 60 million rubles ($926 thousand) to his wife and son. Law enforcers believe that this way, the ex-official attempts to hide the stolen property. Basmanny court had earlier arrested Abyzov’s accounts with more than 437 million rubles ($6.7 million).

The property of the accused - including 2 land properties and 2 residential houses located in the Moscow region, as well as 3 apartments, 4 rooms and a parking stall located in Moscow - is arrested, as well.
