Arashukovs' hotel consumed gas ten times it paid for
Gazprom found embezzlements that took place back in 2017, the count was included in the criminal case.
The management of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz revealed the embezzlement of natural gas at the Arashukovs' hotel Adijuh Palace back in 2017 - the volume of gas consumed exceeded the paid 10 times. The Head of the gas section Khabezraygaz Rustam Sidakov was severely reprimanded. The count was included in the criminal case against the criminal community, which stole gas for 31 billion rubles ($473.9 m) from Gazprom, RBC reports.
As it became known to the publication, the hotel-supplier contract featured the volume of gas consumed differing from the actual one. This follows from the correspondence of Deputy Director General of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Igor Dmitriev with the Head of a subsidiary in Cherkessk, a copy of which fell into the hands of journalists. The authenticity was confirmed by the source in the investigative authorities.
According to the documents, in 2014, Adijuh Palace Hotel of the Arashukovs received 108 thousand cubic meters of gas for 720.3 thousand rubles ($11 thousand), when in fact it consumed almost 1.2 million cubic meters, which costs 7.8 million rubles ($119.2 thousand). The inspection committee determined that the reason for the difference lied in the installation of three boilers, a stove and a heat generator, the documents for which were not submitted to the auditors. In addition, according to the documents, gas was supplied only to one of the two hotel buildings, which is not true.
To recap, Raul Arashukov, Advisor to the Head of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz, father of Senator Rauf Arashukov, is considered the leader of the criminal group that stole gas in large volumes. Both are under arrest since the end of January 2019. In addition, the court placed a number of heads of the southern branches of the gas company in custody.
