Russia is world leader in fastest-growing populations of millionaires
In 2017, Russia became the world leader in the growth of the number of dollar millionaires.
Capgemini company states in its annual World Wealth Report that for the current year the number of Russians, whose fortune reaches at least $1 million, increased by 19.7%. Meanwhile, the average for the world increased by only 7.5%.
According to the information published in the report, to date, 182 thousand dollar millionaires live in Russia. In comparison with other countries, this indicator is rather low. For example, about 4.8 million people, whose fortune exceeds $1 million, live in the US, in Germany - 1.3 million millionaires, and in China - 1.2 million.
It is noteworthy that last year, according to a report from Capgemini, the number of dollar millionaires in Russia decreased by 1.8%.
The authors of the World Wealth Report note that, in total, 16.5 million millionaires live in the world; their combined state is about 63.5 trillion dollars. At the same time, more than a third of the total amount falls to the share of super-rich. This category, according to the criteria for the report, includes people with a fortune of $30 million are classified.
