Oligarch Deripaska to leave En+ board out of Kremlin report?
Oleg Deripaska intends to leave the post of president in En+ Group and Rusal in the near future. One of the reasons may be the inclusion of the businessman in the Kremlin list.
According to the Kommersant newspaper referring to sources close to the shareholders of the companies controlled by Deripaska, the businessman plans to leave the post of president in En+ Group and Rusal. At the same time, he will retain the post of board non-executive director.
Deripaska's successor in En+ is CEO of Maxim Sokov, and in Rusal - Vladislav Solovyov, who is the director general of the company.
In the case of En+ Kommersant's sources indicate that the plan of group’s registration on the LSE is implemented, the development strategy is spelled out, and therefore there is no need to lead the group by Deripaska himself.
Two interlocutors of the newspaper in investment companies admit that Deripaska decided to leave the management of companies with foreign public listing because of his inclusion in the so-called Kremlin report of the United States. In their opinion, such a situation can negatively affect the negotiations. However, other sources of Kommersant say that the decision of Deripaska was not affected either by the Kremlin report or the scandal surrounding Anastasia Vashakevich (Nastya Rybka). According to their version, Deripaska decided to focus on the development of the GAZ Group, which does not yet have a board of directors. In particular, we are talking about the development of a strategic partnership with the Volkswagen Group.
According to Kommersant, the issue of personnel reshuffles in En+ Group and Rusal will be considered at the end of this week.
