Investigative Committee charged oligarch Mikhalchenko with creating criminal community
The entrepreneur is to face justice again.
The Basmanny Court of Moscow began to consider the issue of electing a measure of restraint for St. Petersburg businessman Dmitry Mikhalchenko. The investigation filed a petition for placing the entrepreneur in the detention center on charges of creating a criminal community and embezzlement until March 21, 2019.
In particular, Mikhalchenko is named in a case initiated under part 3 of Art. 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Creation of a Criminal Community committed by a person through his/her official position), as well as under part 4 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code (Misappropriation on a large scale).
In December 2018, the Basmanny Court already passed a sentence against Mikhalchenko, sending him to a general regime colony for 4 years and 7 months for smuggling elite alcohol from Italy, France and the UK to the port of Ust-Luga. The prosecutor asked for 10 years of strict regime for the entrepreneur.
Another defendant in the alcohol case, Anatoly Kindzersky, Deputy General Director of the logistics company Kontreyl Logistics North-West, received a five-year suspended sentence and a fine of 1.6 million rubles ($24.2 thousand).
Another accused, the Director of South-Eastern Trading Company LLC, Ilya Pichko, was killed. Viktor Demin, who committed this crime, received eight years in a strict regime colony.
Major of the Operative Unit No. 6 in the South-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow, Kirill Dvoretskov, is the nephew of General Boris Pishchulin, who used to head the police of the South-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow.
