Ex-owner of Uralkali Rybolovlev detained in Monaco in corruption case
Security forces raided the billionaire’s residence.
At the request of the Monaco Prosecutor’s Office, the local law enforcement authorities detained the former owner of Uralkali, Dmitry Rybolovlev. According to the French publication Le Monde, the court permission was received on the morning of November 6, after which the security forces searched the house of the Russian billionaire.
According to the publication, Rybolovlev may be involved in the case of corruption and trading in influence, the investigation of which began in 2017. The case materials allegedly indicated a lot of people associated with Rybolovlev.
In the Forbes’ ranking of the Russian richest people, Rybolovlev holds the 18th place. According to the publication’s estimates, his fortune is $6.800 million. In 2011, the billionaire emigrated to Monaco.
