Ex-deputy Olga Litvinenko names 3 oligarchs UK should never grant visas to, including her father, Mining University rector
According to Olga Litvinenko, who left the country seven years ago over a disagreement with her father, the oligarchs’ money could be used to pay Russian spies.
Olga Litvinenko, the daughter of the St. Petersburg Mining University rector, wrote a letter to the British Foreign Ministry asking not to grant entry visas to three Russian oligarchs, her father Vladimir Litvinenko including. She also included Igor Antoshin and Andrei Guryev, the shareholders of Russia-based PhosAgro. The letter points out that the millionaires could easily pay a couple of million pounds for an investor visa, Radio Svoboda reported.
According to Olga Litvinenko, the money of the oligarchs could be used to pay Russian spies operating in the UK and other countries.
She reminded that Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich was recently denied a British investor visa. The Telegraph reported yesterday that the British authorities want the oligarch to explain the source of his wealth and prove it was made legally.
"Given all this, I would like to offer you information relating to three Russian persons who clearly keep obtaining British visas to visit the UK and invest money they laundered," Litvinenko's letter says.
Olga Litvinenko was a deputy of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly between 2007 and 2011, then participated in Putin’s election campaign. She fled the country seven years ago over a conflict with her father. Currently, she is a citizen of Poland. After the conflict, assistants of the ex-deputy were brought to criminal responsibility for various crimes. Many of them openly stated that the charges against them had something to do with the conflict between Olga Litvinenko and her father Vladimir Litvinenko, the rector of the St. Petersburg Mining University.
