Creditors and tax service might have claims to British firm of Rotenberg's ex-wife
The decision of Natalia Rotenberg to close two of her companies in the UK became known in January 2019.
Former spouse of billionaire Arkady Rotenberg Natalia Rotenberg failed to liquidate her two companies in the UK. According to British law, only good reasons can prevent entrepreneurs from voluntarily closing firms, such as claims of creditors, employees or tax authorities.
Natalia Rotenberg’s decision to close two of her companies in the UK - NR Property Developments Limited and Natalia Rotenberg Events Limited, an event management company - became known in January 2019. Under normal circumstances, the liquidation of firms should have been completed on March 22. However, in February, a certain third party prevented the closure of the business. Who exactly demanded to freeze the process of liquidation of firms is not reported. Rotenberg herself, as well as the British authorities, refused to comment on the situation to Russian journalists.
It is reported that Rotenberg has two more organizations in the UK: the charity foundation Natalia Rotenberg Foundation Limited and the design company NR Interior Design Limited. Both were fined for late filing, which could have caused Rotenberg problems with the liquidation of companies.
