Chubais accuses Russians of ingratitude to oligarchs
According to the head of the state-owned company, the Russian business “rebuilt the country,” “restored the collapsed Soviet enterprises,” “returned the salary to the people,” “filled the budget with money.”
The Russian society is “deeply infantile” and “it has not even thanked the business for what it has done to the country for 25 years.” Such statement was made by director general of Rusnano Anatoly Chubais at the session Business - Society - Power: Old Problems, Old Expectations held in the framework of the All-Russian Civic Forum.
According to the head of the state-owned company, the Russian business “rebuilt the country”, “restored the collapsed Soviet enterprises”, “returned the salary to the people”, “filled the budget with money” and “created sources so that our intelligentsia could get funds to support culture, science, education."
“This is all done by those whom society calls oligarchs. There is no other word for it. Language reflects thinking. Society has no good word about business,” Chubais complained.
In November, the head of the state-owned company announced support for a boycott of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, when Russian businessmen who fell under US sanctions would not be allowed in there. In May, Rusnano sent proposals on the use of pension funds for investment in the nanoindustry to the government and the Central Bank.
In March, Rusnano reported on its readiness to pay dividends to the state for the first time in ten years of the company's existence.
