All top judges detained along with Rybolovlev in Monaco
The billionaire has been locked up for the last 24 hours.
Law enforcers have detained “almost all former members of the judicial system of Monaco down to the highest levels” along with Russian oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev. This is reported by Monaco-Matin referring to several sources.
According to the newspaper sources, all of them were in custody in Monaco and Nice as of 8 pm (10:00 Moscow time). The businessman spent the night at the police station.
As previously reported by The CrimeRussia, Rybolovlev was detained as part of the preliminary investigation and may be released tomorrow. However, according to RBC, Monaco authorities are not going to release the businessman.
The media reported that the reason for Rybolovlev's detention was the information received by law enforcement officers after wiretapping of lawyer’s phone, Tatyana Bersheda. In particular, the recording of a conversation between an art dealer Yves Bouvier and his assistant Tanya Rappo is of interest for the investigation. In addition, local media reported that there were messages compromising the Minister of Justice of Monaco on the phone.
The General Director of Research and Production Complex (NPK) Dedal was detained when transferring the first part of the bribe in the amount of 2.5 million rubles ($37.9 thousand) in one of Simferopol restaurants.
