Abramovich to buy “Israel’s most expensive villa”
The land property is located at Israel’s resort Herzliya and estimated at $63 million.
Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich is negotiating purchase of a villa and a land property with an area of 9 thousand square meters he rents at Israel’s resort Herzliya. In case the deal goes through, Abramovich is going to be an owner of Israel’s most expensive villa worth of $63 million, reports a local newspaper Calcalist with reference to a source.
The land lease agreement had been tied up between owner of the real estate and Abramovich for 3 months. According to Calcalist, British-Israeli philanthropist Alan Howard is the owner of the villa.
Interestingly, Abramovich does have real estate in Israel: in 2015, he purchased a land property with an area of 1.5 thousand square meters in a historical district of Tel-Aviv. There’s a hotel and a few 1-storey buildings on the land.
According to an Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, Abramovich had planned to build a villa over there, as well as renovate secured architectural facilities located on the land.
Forbes estimates Abramovich’s fortune at $12.4 billion. He is ranked 12th on the list of Russia’s richest businessmen. In May, 2018, it became known that the businessman had finished repatriation to Israel and got the local passport.
Presumably, it concerns the US response to Ukraine’s help in the investigation against Joseph Biden, Trump’s main rival in the 2020 presidential election, who allegedly was in collusion with Kiev during the previous campaign.
