Earlier it was reported that several thousand militants had been mobilized on the border between Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

NATO General Scott Miller announced the number of US troops in Afghanistan had been reduced by 2 thousand people, and now there are 12 thousand American military personnel in the area, reports New York Times.

US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said the Pentagon could reduce its military presence in this country to 8.6 thousand people not disrupting the actions to fight against the Al-Qaida and Islamic State terrorist organizations.
