Ukraine: DPR militia man shot dead on doorstep of his own apartment
The former coder participated in the assault on Donetsk Airport and Debaltseve.
The DPR militia man Roman Dzhumaev, who placed under house arrest, was shot on the doorstep of his apartment in Mariupol. Seven gunshot wounds were found on his body, to the local publication 0629 reports. Dzhumaev was accused of participating in a terrorist organization; he was among those who stormed Donetsk Airport and Debaltseve in 2014.
The deceased was 28 years old. Before the war, he worked as a coder in Kiev. In 2014, he left for Donetsk and joined the ranks of the militia in the Pyatnashka battalion. In the summer of 2015, he traveled through Russia to the Republic of Belarus, and in 2016 moved to Russia. In September 2017, Dzhumaev wanted to visit his relatives in Ukraine and was detained while trying to cross the border.
Dzhumaev faced from 8 to 15 years in prison. In August, he was placed under house arrest.
