Former British Prime Minister David Cameron spoke about his conversation with Vladimir Putin, in which they talked about the lives of sexual minorities in Russia. Putin justified the adoption of the controversial measures by demographic issues, RBC reports.

It was the chilliest conversation that the British PM and the Russian leader have ever had, said Cameron. Putin admitted that population decline is a problem in Russia and that he needs Russian men to marry Russian women and have as many children as possible.

Cameron wrote about his conversation on gay propaganda with President Putin in his memoirs. According to him, the dialogue took place at the St. Petersburg G20 summit in September 2013.
