Two former assistants of Trump's lawyers from former USSR arrested in USA

The entrepreneurs participated in an investigation against former vice president Joe Biden.

Businessmen Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, immigrants from the countries of the former USSR, were arrested in the USA on suspicion of violating the rules of campaign financing, NBC News reports. Both are known to have assisted President Donald Trump's lawyer, Rudi Giuliani, in investigating former Vice President Joe Biden.

Fruman and Parnas organized Biden's meetings with Ukrainian officials. The Ukrainian investigative authorities suspected the local oil and gas company Burisma of paying Biden $900,000 for lobbying. In addition, Biden was suspected of facilitating the termination of criminal cases involving the Minister of Ecology of Ukraine, Mykola Zlochevsky, the owner of the Burisma Group

“Two ‘Ostap Benders,’ who walk between the two countries and talk all kinds of things...” Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky described Fruman and Parnas. 

Prior to this, both entrepreneurs contacted the police with statements on Kolomoisky.

According to the American investigation authorities Fruman and Parnas, participated in a scheme that allowed bribing the US officials using a chain of firms and influence the government in the interests of Ukrainian entrepreneurs. Their accomplices are Andrey Kukushkin and David Koria.
