Turkey detains ISIS ex-leader’s sister with family
Rasmiya Awad, 65, was detained on suspicion of having links with an extremist group.
Turkish authorities have detained the elder sister of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the ex-leader of the ISIS terrorist organization, and her family, including her husband, children and daughter-in-law. The news was reported by the Associated Press and Reuters.
According to the media reports, Rasmiya Awad, 65, was detained on Monday evening in the city of Azaz, the province of Aleppo in northern Syria, on suspicion of having links to an extremist group. The adult detainees were questioned.
US President Donald Trump announced that al-Baghdadi had been killed during an operation October 27.
