Thousands of 9/11 attack survivors got cancer

Not only residents of the United States who suffered from the terrorist attack are among the sick, but also volunteers and rescuers.

The media reported that approximately four thousand people who survived the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack in the United States suddenly had various forms of cancer.

Residents of the United States of America, who were at the World Trade Center in New York on September 11, 2001, when the terrorist attack occurred, fell ill with cancer. According to the head of the medical unit of the New York Fire Service, Davil Presant, four thousand people have been diagnosed with various forms of oncology. He also pointed out that the development of the disease may not be related to the tragedy.

However, development of cancer may be a result of aging. Oncological diseases often appear only 20-30 years after the attacks. It is worth noting that not only residents of the United States who suffered from the terrorist attack are among the sick, but also volunteers and rescuers. All of them fell under the federal program launched in New York 15 years ago.
