Son of German ex-president killed while giving lecture

The son of former German President Richard von Weizsacker (1984–1994) died on November 19 from stab wounds after an attack during a lecture in a Berlin hospital.
According to Der Tagesspiegel, Fritz von Weizsacker has been the chief medical officer at Schlosspark-Klinik since 2005. On Tuesday, the doctor, 59, was giving a lecture on liver ailments.
According to police, one of those present at the lecture was badly injured while trying to stop the attacker. The alleged offender was detained in the hospital. An investigation is underway.
On October 9, a synagogue in the German city of Halle was attacked. The gunman started shooting and then threw a grenade into the Jewish cemetery. Two people were killed, several more got injuries.
