The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the fact that the British authorities refused to issue visas to two Russian journalists.

"The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the fact that the British authorities refused to issue visas for two Russian correspondents to work in this country," the Ministry told reporters.

Earlier, a source in Moscow told RIA Novosti that in 2019, London refused to issue visas to several Russian journalists, which is a clear violation of their rights. According to the source, the case concerns "correspondents who were already working in the UK and were heading to their workplaces." He added that for one of them, the visa was not extended, for the second one – was never issued. The British authorities did not explain the reasons, the source said.
