Russia extradites to Ukraine kickboxer Olenchik suspected of murder

The kickboxer was detained in January in St.Petersburg. According to the investigation, starting from 2017, he had been on a wanted list in a case into murder of his acquaintance in Kyiv and subsequent car theft.

Russia has extradited to Ukraine world’s two-time kickboxing champion Vadim Olenchik suspected of murder, reports Interfax-Ukraina with reference to a media relations officer of the Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv Nadezhda Maksimets. She specified that Ukraine’s Prosecutor’s General Office had sent the extradition request to Russia in February.

Kyiv’s Solomensky Court is reported to have granted a request of the Prosecutor’s Office related to the arrest of Olenchik for 60 days without bail.

The kickboxer was detained in January in St.Petersburg. According to the investigation, starting from 2017, he had been on a wanted list in a case into murder of his acquaintance in Kyiv and subsequent car theft. Besides that, Olenchik has been on Interpol wanted list for more than a year. He pleads not guilty.
