Police barely rescue Georgian MP who called for dialog with Russia
Protesters chanted: “Traitor! Russian slave!”
Georgian MP Emzar Kvitsiani joined the brawl near the parliament building.
The protesters, who gathered in the center of Tbilisi, accused Kvitsiani of defending the interests of Russia and advocating dialog with Moscow.
A rally outside the parliament building opposes the new government. Deputies gathered to discuss the new Cabinet of Ministers. When Kvitsiani left the building, they started shouting to him: “Traitor! Russian slave!” The deputy lost his temper and hit several journalists.
To prevent further slaughter, the police put Kvitsiani in a car and drove away.
