PACE invites Russian delegation to June session
The right to challenge its credentials is preserved.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) invites the Russian delegation to participate in the June session, but the possibility of challenging its powers remains. The Assembly adopted the relevant resolution on Tuesday night, RIA Novosti reports.
118 out of 190 parliamentarians present in the hall voted for the resolution, 62 were against, 10 members abstained. At the same time, the right to challenge its credentials is preserved.
Earlier, the Netherlands fund Stichting Vliegramp MH17, created to support relatives of the Malaysian Boeing 777 crash victims in the sky over the Donbas, urged not to return Russia to PACE. The fund is concerned that Russia is “not cooperative” with the investigation of the case.
Presumably, it concerns the US response to Ukraine’s help in the investigation against Joseph Biden, Trump’s main rival in the 2020 presidential election, who allegedly was in collusion with Kiev during the previous campaign.
